Legion Family:

Together, members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of The American Legion make up what is known as the "Legion Family".

The American Legion

Founded by an Act of Congress after World War I, The American Legion fiercely advocates for the needs of every veterans, service member, and their families. We are committed to destigmatizing mental health support, offering peer-to-peer resources, and empowering everyone to "Be The One" to end veteran suicide. As the nation's largest Veteran's Service Office, we relentlessly champion for veterans and service members on Capitol Hill.

American Legion Auxilliary

The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) is a separate entity from the American Legion that shares the same values. It is composed of spouses, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, granddaughters, grandsons, and brothers, & sisters of American war veterans. Founded in 1919, the ALA is dedicated to serving veterans, military, and their families.

Sons of The American Legion

The Sons of The American Legion was created in 1932 as an organization within The American Legion. The SAL is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the United States military and became eligible for membership in The American Legion.

The Legion hosts the annual Lawrenceburg Fair and Horse Show and has plenty of room for carnival rides and an arena with covered seating, so it is equipped to host many types of large events. It is used throughout the year by various local groups for concerts, craft fairs, and other events. The grounds have stables, an outdoor kitchen, outdoor basketball courts, and the city park, which is located on the property. There is also a building with a full kitchen, bar, and capacity for 222 people.
